This Italian-inspired Parmesan Meatloaf elevates comfort food by combining lean ground beef and turkey with aromatic herbs and savory Parmesan cheese. The result is a moist, flavorful loaf featuring a golden, gooey layer of melted Italian cheese and marinara sauce on top. Perfect for family dinners, this hearty main course pairs perfectly with roasted vegetables or creamy mashed potatoes for a sophisticated and comforting meal experience that is entirely pork-free and alcohol-free.

  • Total Time: 75
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound lean ground turkey
2 large eggs
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup marinara sauce
1/2 cup Italian cheese mix

Instructions

  • Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake at 350°F for 45–60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is fully cooked.
  • Remove the meatloaf from the oven and sprinkle the Italian cheese blend evenly over the top.
  • Return it to the oven for 5–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Do not overhandle the meat mixture when combining to prevent the meatloaf from becoming too dense. Ensure the marinara sauce used is free of any alcohol or pork ingredients. Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes after removing it from the oven for easier slicing.
