Discover the incredibly flavorful and easy-to-make Mississippi Pot Roast. This classic recipe features succulent chuck roast, slow-cooked to perfection.

  • Total Time: 6-8 hours

Ingredients

Scale

3-4 pounds Chuck Roast
1 packet (1 oz) Ranch Dressing Mix
1 packet (1 oz) Au Jus Mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) Unsalted Butter
1/2 cup Pepperoncini Peppers, whole or sliced
2 tablespoons Pepperoncini Juice, from the jar

Instructions

Prepare the Meat: Place the beef cut into your slow cooking device. Pat it dry with paper towels beforehand for the best results.
Add Seasonings: Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus mix evenly over the beef. This creates the foundational taste profile.
Introduce Fat and Acidity: Position the butter stick on top of the seasoned meat. Arrange the pickled peppers around the beef. Pour the pepper juice over everything.
Cook Thoroughly: Cover your appliance and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours. The meat should be easily shredded with a fork when done.
Shred and Enjoy: Once cooked, remove the beef and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded meat to the cooking liquid to absorb all the wonderful juices.
