Experience the warmth of a cafe-quality chai latte in the comfort of your home. This recipe uses a concentrated steeping method to ensure the bold flavors of the spices and black tea shine through, balanced by a touch of sweetness and topped with silky, frothed milk. It is the perfect, alcohol-free beverage for a cozy morning or an afternoon pick-me-up, providing a luxurious texture and aromatic finish that rivals any local coffee house.

  • Total Time: 7
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Scale

1/4 cup filtered water
1 chai tea bag
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
3/4 cup whole milk or barista-blend oat milk
Freshly grated cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

Boil 1/4 cup of filtered water in a small pot.
Pour boiling water into an 8-ounce mug.
Steep the chai tea bag for 5 minutes to extract maximum depth.
Remove and discard the tea bag.
Stir in 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar until fully dissolved.
Heat 3/4 cup of milk in a small pot over medium heat until small bubbles form.
Whisk the milk vigorously or use a handheld frother until the volume doubles.
Pour most of the frothed milk into the mug with the tea concentrate and stir gently.
Top with the remaining milk foam and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

Use high-quality tea for the best results. If using plant-based milk, ensure it is a barista blend for optimal frothing capability. You can adjust the sugar levels to your preference.
